Opinion polling is a phenomena needing to be replaced with something more concrete. Each day, media are publishing and opining about the latest poll. Today, Rick Santorum is up in the polls. Here is the laughable "analysis" from one site.

Ya think that someone who is popular would do well in an opinion poll? Sure sure.

Media needs to get past these polls and focus on proposed policies and agendas. We don't need to elect someone based on fame but based on policies.

I wonder, "Who benefits from not focusing on issues beyond poll results?" Besides, the polling and electronic media companies? I gain little, if any, information from them. Mostly, I ignore that banter on TV and our local newspaper places these on page 7 (really!).
